About Miles
Hi! My name is Miles Cruger, and I am a writer; developmental, line, technical, and copy editor; and a lover of the written word. As a full time freelancer, I work with publishers, individual clients, and businesses worldwide.
Working with my first clients, the dozens of students I mentored as a high-school tutor, confirmed editing as a career path for me. I was moved by the passion of their writing, riddled with errors as it was, and loved the process of refining their work to bring out their voice. Today, my editorial experience is wide ranging: After working through the Certificate in Editing program from the University of Washington, I've worked on book length manuscripts, both fiction and nonfiction, college admissions essays, senior theses, B2B copy, and more across a wide range of genres.
When I'm not writing or editing, you can find me in the garden, volunteering at a nearby farm, out on the lake in my canoe, training for my first marathon, or working on recording a folk guitar album. I frequently travel, but am currently based out of Boulder, Colorado, and Sebastopol, California. Wherever I am, you can be sure to find me toting around an old and incredibly busted classical guitar and a 3.7lb, almost 3-inch thick print edition of the Chicago Manual of Style.
